Armour Safety was formed from the merger of 2 long established safety product importers - Brant Imports and Gloves for Work/Safety Buys. Brant Imports was started by Ron Brant and serviced primarily the South Auckland safety market for over 20 years. Gloves for Work was based in Tauranga under Keith Abbot and took over the Rotorua based company Safety Buys in 2004.

Armour Safety is primarily an importer and distributor of gloves and specialist safety products selling to safety retailers and large end users. Armour Safety strive to provide excellent customer service - the type of service we would expect to receive ourselves - with great pricing and quality products. Armour Safety is owned and managed by Ken Morrison. By profession Ken is a Chartered Accountant and has a Masters Degree in Commercial Law. He has spent most of his working life owning and running successful businesses in Auckland such as Cardy Minolta and Adfit Membership Services. Ken spent 18 years as a territorial force soldier in the NZ Army rising to the rank of Major and commanding the Auckland and Hamilton batteries. He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration for long and distinguished service. He is an avid rugby fan having played for 35 years including time as both a player and selector/coach of the Auckland Restricted Grade representative team. Ken has 2 children - Olivia, Zara - and lives in St Heliers.

Armour Safety is proudly 100% NZ owned & operated and we believe it is deceptive that our largest competitor, NZ Safety, can have the appearance of being a NZ company when in fact they are wholly owned in Australia. We see ourselves as the KiwiBank of the safety industry standing up against the large Australian safety companies sucking profits out of NZ. 

Armour Safety source most of their products from China or India using suppliers who we and our predecessors have used for many years. We know their quality and trust them to do the right thing by us and our customers. Most of our products are unbranded as this keeps the cost down and lets our resellers own the customer rather than the brand.
